Hello!

I am back with the healthy again 🙂  I had a terrible cold a week ago and spent the last few days catching up on everything that i fell behind on.  It never ceases to amaze me how much yo can fall behind on during a cold.

This Saturday is my mother-in-law’s birthday and i like to have him make his gifts rather than buy something.   Since we have been into the Shrinky Dinks lately he made some more charms for Gramma to have on a necklace.

Necklace for Gramma

I love his little pictures and i treasure the ones he has made for me. I know Grandma will treasure hers as well.

I have been working on Gromit almost every night for about an hour, enough time to get one of his bits done 🙂

We have legs, arms, feet, one completed ear, a partial ear and his neck.  I wasn’t able to work his arms in the round because of their construction but i have been able to do all the other parts in the round.  I only have the ear, tail, nose and eyes left so i am hoping to finish all his bits by tomorrow night.

I also started Steggie for Little Man-this is what i have of the back.

I decided to go with the biggest size because when I measured one of Little Man’s hoodies it measured at 30 inches across which was large in the pattern and that is his current size.  I want Steggie to last him a bit longer then just this season so Hopefully the bigger size won’t be too huge.  Even if it is we can roll up the sleeves right 🙂

Ta-daa i have an FO!  I joined a potholder swap and i wanted to kind play around and test out a pattern that i liked.

Pattern: Potholder from Kyuuto! Japanese Crafts Lacy Crochet

Dates:March 20-April 1, 2009

Yarn: J. P Coats Royale  Crochet Thread Size 3

Hook: 2.2 mm

Notes: Oh Man, this practice potholder took way longer than I planned.  I did the two circles and when i went to sandwich them together and do the edging one of my circles was missing a whole panel!!!! HOW DID THAT HAPPEN??  So i had to unravel almost all of it and redo the circle and since it was basically my third time making a circle i just wasn’t that into it anymore and took a few days break.   There area little mistakes all over the place-nothing noticeable unless you study it or if you looked at the pattern. The yellow edging has kind of a big mistake. I was supposed to do 7 treble crochets in a single crochet and I only did 6 and didnt realize my mistake until i was right at the end.  I was not doing it again.   Even with all my screw-ups it did come out really nice and i do like it but i don’t think this is the pattern i am going to use for the swap. lol

I checked out 200 crochet squares from the library and there are quite a few that look like they might be fun to do. Now the fun of picking the perfect square begins 🙂

  1. Oh, I wouldn’t see any mistakes on your pot holder even if I used a magnifying glass, it’s perfect! The lucky recipient will be happy! *^v^*
Hurray for the Steggie, it’s good you want to make it bigger to last longer, children grow up so quickly that they cannot enjoy their cute clothes for long. ^^
I believe the handmade necklace from a Grandson to a Grandmother is a treasure.

  2. GROMIT!!
I’m so excited!!! I can’t wait for you to finish him so I can see!

I tried to start a little bird to go with my mouse but I just knit too tight still and so the increasing in every row was killing my fingers and bending my needles. I started over a couple times but I would only get 5 rows in before I just couldn’t go any further… : (
