My New Bag!

I took these pictures really quick. So I warn you they are not at their best.

I have been really wanting to sew a bag for myself. I had a few different bags bookmarked online and in my books.

I finally decided on the Folk Bag from One-Yard Wonders.

Here it is!

I am very happy with how it turned out! It is some of my better sewing. The owls make me very happy and I love the colors. I find myself being drawn to turquoise more and more.

Sadly there have been a couple of casualties in my knitted socks so I must get back to knitting my mystery sock so I have a finished pair soon!

I also have a trip coming up soon and I should be able to finish another pair of socks during that trip and hopefully that will make up for what I lost. Poor, Poor socks but they were very loved and kept my feet cozy in the cooler months. I may try some darning but I have never done it before so i am a bit unsure about it. if you have any tips let me know!

Just Playing! i know i am the one who disappeared off the grid. I have been pretty busy with work, house and knitting of course!

Ich weiss ich bein weider verschwunden. I bin sehr beschaftigt mit arbeit, schule und stricken! Aber wir sehen uns ja bald!!!!

Little Man is loving the first grade and adores his teacher. I am glad he does.

Work has been keeping me busy and since we are shorthanded I have been staying after almost everyday to help the others I work with.

I am currently working on two Mystery Socks! One from Through the Loops that started Oct. 1 and one from my LYS that started last Friday. I am not going to show them until they are done

I do have some things to show off Most are oldies that I finally finished!

A Mystery Washcloth from Kris Knits. i think this one is from april. I just finished it a week ago!

This is the Combo-Corset T by Annie Modesitt. This has been waiting for buttons for a few weeks now and I finally admitted to myself that it is just too small so I am giving it away. Other than that it is a great pattern and I was happy with how it turned out, i just wish it fit me. I usually go too big maybe my next one will be right on the money! Good thing my hats, socks and mittens have always fit me.

Last weekend i did some sewing so i have some goodness to show you and I am really happy with this one.

Fiber Festival Report time!!

The Festival wasn’t very big but they had lots of roving and wool to put your hands in and squish!

To keep Little Man busy while I was browsing I gave him my camera, so you can thank him for all the great shots. These are just a sampling I couldn’t put them all on here.

What I walked away with from the fiber festival.

Some Sheep we made from the roving. We used this tutorial. Little Man’s is the blue one and mine is the white one.

Wir haben die schafe gemacht. Der blaue hat Kleine Mannn gemacht.

It was lots of fun and I am glad my mom took us along.

It’s been a busy week at work and not much of anything crafty has been done.

Lots of reading though. I am almost done with book 11 from the Stephanie Plum series. I should be able to start 12 tonight!

I finally got a picture of Little Man’s hat. Seems like every time i remembered to take the picture it was dreary and gray out. Today I didn’t care.

This is a pattern i won from My Little Hen. It is Betz White’s Reversible Bucket Hat pattern. The pattern is very well written and easy to follow. I have made a hat for myself and also Little Man.

I am really happy with how it turned out! I was a bit weary about trying to make a bucket hat myself but i am so glad i did. We love them here and they are perfect protection from the sun for a energetic little man who likes to play outside. I highly recommend the pattern to anyone.

Yesterday I did go to my friend’s show at the gallery.

And here is a peak at some of the raw food they were serving: Rohkost essen!!

What you are seeing are some “calamari” which is actually mushroom with flax seed breading. A mango cheesecake and coconut pie both with some kind of nut crust. They were absolutely divine!! Some chocolates are also peeking through at the bottom made from raw cacao and other things i don’t remember. It is all raw and vegan. Yummy!!! They also served some “sushi rolls” made with various raw fillings.

It was a fun night and I tried some new things. Which I usually don’t like to do.

Tomorrow I am going to a Fiber Festival with my mom, woohoo! Woolly Goodness. I will be sure to take some photos

Don’t Worry/ Keine Sorgen

I haven’t disappeared again. Just a really busy week. The hat has been finished and tomorrow i will post a picture! Work has been crazy. We are short people so almost every day i have had to stay after to help finish cleaning and then rush off to pick up Little Man from school. So that extra hour to do things hasn’t been there. Tomorrow night a friend of the family has his pictures in a local gallery and he will be performing as well. I will be sure to take some pictures to share Until tomorrow!

Ich bin nicht weider verschwunden nur sehr beschaftigt. Wir sind in meine arbeit sehr beschaftigt und ich muss ofter nach bleiben und beim aufraumen helfen. Und gleich dannach Der Kleiner Mann holen. Ich habe das hut fertig gemacht und zeig morgen die fotos! Bis Morgen!

Weekend/Wochenende

We don’t have much planned for the weekend. It’s rainy and gloomy outside. Perfect for cuddling inside.

Wir haben nicht viel furs wochenende geplant. Es ist heute regnerisch und kalt. Ein richtiger kuschel tag.

I am hoping to turn this fabric into a hat for Little Man.

I mochte mit diesen stoff ein hut fur mein Kleinen Mann machen.

And some reading with a cup of tea. I love the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. I am a bit late in the game and only started reading them in June but I gobbled up the first 7 books in just a couple weeks and made myself stop before starting book 8. They are so funny and some of the stuff that happens to Stephanie is really unbelievable but I think that adds to the books and her character. I like them so much that even though i checked them all out from the library, i have decided these need to be a permanent fixture in my library. So i have been checking out used book stores. If you are a late-comer like me and haven’t read these then give the first book a try.

Und lesen mit eine tasse tea. Ich liebe diese serie von Janet Evanovich. Die serie gibt’s auch auf Deutsch un das erste buch heisst “Einmal ist Keinmal”. Der Serie gibts schon lange bei uns aber ich habe es erst ihm Juni angefangen. Die erste seiben bucher habe ich innerhalb ein paar wochen gelesen! Schnell zum lesen und du willst sie nicht runter setzen. Aber dann habe ich eine pause gemacht sonst habe ich keine mehr in der serie zu lesen. Ich habe jetzt buch acht angefan. Die bucher sind sehr witzig und sachen passiern zum Stephanie Plum das einfach unglaublich sind, aber das ist das komische. Die sind romanze, krimi und blodsinn zusammen in einen buch und das braucht mann ab und zu!

Things to do on Labor Day

Drink coffee and read a mystery. This one is Passenger to Frankfurt by Agatha Christie. So far it’s pretty good but i think i prefer her Mrs. Marple or Hercule Poirot stories to this spy novel.

And of course some knitting!!! I am finishing up my Turkish Bed Socks from Churchmouse Classics. With some slightly cooler weather coming, these will be perfect.
