December 2008

Thank you very much for your well wishes.  I just wanted to let you know things are okay-i went in yesterday and i still had the tear and detachment-they did some more freezing and put some gas bubbles in my eye that will press on the tear in my eye when i lay on my left side-the hope is that the bubbles hold it all in place and it can heal that way.

i want back today and it seems better but i go back again friday-hopefully it helps it completely because that would mean no surgery.

I have to go back to laying on my left side.

I hope you all have Happy and Wonderful Holidays!!!!

Ready for Christmas, originally uploaded by Craftydiddl.

HI you guys-i just wanted to let you know that things maybe be a bit quiet around here for a week or so-i know your probably thinking -You have already been pretty quiet-but just as i was hoping to start posting FO’s and showing my baking of cookies i was hit with a sudden eye problem. A huge surprise i wasn’t expecting.
I have a Horseshoe tear and some retinal detachment in my right eye and yesterday i had some lasering and cryotherapy(freezing area where the tear is) done and on Monday they will look if all is fixed-if not then i will have to have a operation done on my eye next week. I am supposed to take it very easy and limit my reading and knitting, bending anything where my head would be down alot. So, there won’t be anymore posting or reading of blogs for a little while. I will update you guys on Monday though.
And i was able to finish Shaun the Sheep in time for Christmas but i think that’s all i will get done-everyone else will be getting their gifts late i think.  i will post details and better pics when i have the okay to be on longer from the doctor.
Have a good weekend!

Thank you all for your kind words :)   They helped quite a bit and i have really been trying to focus on postive things.

Knitting is still slow but i do have all my pieces for Cosima done-now i just have to seam them together and do the neckline.  But tonight’s focus is Shaun the Sheep-i only have to make eyes and ears and then the dreaded seaming and assembling can start.

I also started another Christmas gift that wasn’t on the original list and its the bathroom mat from purlbee.  I am going to make it for hubby since he always uses his towels on the floor. This might be a knit he will actually use :) I am using my cotton stash for it so it’s going to have some strange colors but i am keeping to my goal of stash knitting only that way!!

And Joanna tagged me-so here are my answers :)

1) Is this your first blog?    Yes and No.  This is the third site i have used for blogging so the name has changed 3 times and been in 3 different places but it has always been about the same thing-my crafting and tidbits of my life. Originally i focused only on knitting but life comes in sometimes and you can’t help it and then while i always had other crafts, they were set aside when i first started knitting and they have come back when i needed a break or was inspired.

2)How long have you had it? Ummm good question-about a year and a half-i will have to look after i finish this post.

3)Why did you start?  I started it to follow the crowd-i saw other blogs out there about knitting and i wanted to share my things and hopefully meet like-minded people and make some new friends.

4) What does this blog mean to you?  it’s my outlet about knitting mainly but also a way for me to talk to my friends that i have made.  It’s my way to communicate what i am feeling and a place i know i can go to and not be judged or looked down on. And also a place where i can write about what i have done and maybe help someone with a way i did something or to point them out a way to go. And it’s my place to get a pat on the back when i have finished something because honestly-Hubby just isn’t as good at it as you guys :)

And if you read this-consider yourself tagged-teehee :)

Must stop avoiding the sheep-off to make some ears and eyes :)

It’s cold, i have lost my knitting mojo, my holiday spirit is waning and things are just tough right now.  i know we aren’t the only ones who are having a hard time but it brings you down and it’s scary.

In an attempt for some cheer-i did manage this adorable little guy for Little Man’s advent calendar.

I love how he turned out :) Just too cute.

He is from the Winter 2009 of Living Crafts and its by Chris de Longpré.

I just used scraps of acrylic yarn that i had in my sack of remants-some Bernat and Caron Simply Soft.

He was knit in the round and went quickly. In the pattern the eyes and buttons were made with French Knots but i just backstitched around the one knit stitch where i placed the eyes and buttons.

i hope Little Man likes him as much as i do.
