December 2007

It has been a wonderful year!

I am very thankful to have met new friends out in blog world.

You guys have been great!!

I want to wish you all a Happy, Healthy and Super Crafty 2008!!

Scarves, originally uploaded by Craftydiddl.

Thanx for the comments on them i am not fishing for more : ) But this time i wanted to add details since i am not mad at my wireless on/off switch anymore.
So the Rainbow-y Scarf is mine-it’s more of a long skinny scarf that you can wrap around a lot or let it hang down.
Knit on Size 11 needles
Yarn is Ironstone Colorchanges yarn. Color 232
I looked back and i started this around the beginning of October-not as far back as i thought-yay.
Little Man’s Scarf is made from Germany imported yarn lol
Wolle Rodel Maxi-Color-it’s a bulky yarn and i used a size 9 needle. The fabric turned out nice and thick so the wind can’t get thru but at the same time it’s not stiff.
i did it in the basketweave pattern (i think) it’s K5, P5, K5, P5 for 5 rows and then the opposite for 5 rows and so on and so on. I didn’t want the scarf to have a wrong side.
Today Little Man and I had a Jammie Day. i did some dishes and started on my MONSTER PILE of laundry. I really let it get behind with all the holiday gatherings. Little Man’s fave part of the day was going to Walgreen’s IN OUR JAMMIES-he kept looking at me, grinning at asking “Mommy. what are we wearing” anyway we went and pickd up over 450 pictures. Yeah-apart from my Germany pics, Mommy got really behind on her pics. Good news is i have about half of them put away in albums.

Do you have any exciting plans for New Years? We will probably just be hangin out-In our jammies!!! and i will do some knitting of course-Gotta start the New Year off right!

Scarves…usually you can zip right thru them-Not me. I take weeks and monthes. I am sure others have too but i usually aim to get things done and move on to the next with no knitting baggage :)

Do you guys recognize the Rainbow-y scarf? That’s My So called Scarf that i started in Sept. i think. I am not sure-all is lost-the pattern link, the yarn label and i forgot to write when i started it. Oh well i love how it turned out.

Little Man’s scarf turned out great too and he loves it-he tried to lasso me with it at the bookstore when i was taking to long in the craft book section.

Next up a earflap hat for hubby that is driving me insane-i can’t get guage with the pattern i picked. Now i am trying it by myself and my flaps look weird-i just hate it-Hopefully i can look at it tomorrow with fresh eyes and figure something out.

Socks on 2 Circular Needles-i figured it out last night with no problems and found it quite easy but the kit i got from knit picks came with 3 mm needles-which is bigger than the US 2 needles i use so i noticed right after 3 rows that my sock was ending up huge. So it’s back to the DP’s for me until i can get smaller needles. I am kinda bummed-i was looking forward to trying to do this with a whole pair of socks but not meant to be and i probably won’t get any use out of these needles otherwise. :(
i have heard some god things about Magic 8 (karen commented she liked it as well) so maybe that will be my next experiment-but everytime i have looked at it i got totally boggled.

Well, i had so much more in my post that was deleted when i hit my wireless on/off switch-i was so angry but i have gotten over it. But sadly you guys get the short end of the stick cause my second post has been chopped of all th details and cute statments.
Next one will be better.

Good night :)

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday!!! Ours was very nice.  But i am glad it’s all over. No baking to worry about, no more shopping, no more parties, Just back to normal life and some knitting! I have missed my knitting. i did make a scarf for Little Man but the little scarf took me 13 days to make, a picture next time i haven’t taken any yet.

It’s just good to be back to some kind of relaxed normalcy.

But…Little Man has been a terror the past week or so. Tantrums, crying and Oh THE NOT LISTENING!!!  i know, i know this is what toddlers do. But boy is it frustrating. I just want to SCREAM!  It seems to get worse not better-i hope this phase ends soon.

I need to relax and just not think about it-i am off to learn knitting a sock on 2 circular needles.

I wish you all have a Wonderful, Safe, Blessed and Merry Christmas!!!!

After Christmas i should be back to some regular posting, it has just been super crazy catching up and getting ready for Christmas!

Merry Christmas!

Stash and Projects, originally uploaded by Craftydiddl.

We have yarn, yarn and more yarn-Oh i didnt want to stop-and it was all on sale yarn-CHEAP!! LOVE IT! Sock yarn will obviously be socks but the other yarn was bought purely because the power of the yarn overtook me. I could not say no.
My projects are small-Socks, a Bainbridge scarf for me-that i don’t like as much as my grandma’s and it is now just hangin out in my closet :( -Oh well.
Then with leftover sock yarn i made a hat and scarf for my sheep :)
Well that’s all i got today-Can you believe i have no project to work on right now-well okay i do have a cardigan that need 4 inches of sleeve and a scarf but i don’t want to work on those at all!!!
Next up-a earflap hat for Lane-his request. Tommorrow i will be winding up yarn by hand-Hmmm i think Santa needs to get me a ball winder. lol :)

The Trip was great, it was so great to be back to the city i was born in and spent my summers.  It was great to show my husband the things i had told him about. It was great being together as a family. It was great seeing my family that is still over there.

The plane ride there was a bit bumpy for my tastes but Little Man did great and loved the whole thing.  He only slept for about 5 mins though.  When we got there our suitcase was the FIRST off the plane so we ran to the train station and were able to get on the early train rather that the one that left 2 hours later!!  YAY!  Little Man crashed on the train and when we got to Augsburg-he was really hard to wake up.

The first few days we took in kind of easy and went around Augsburg.  Showed hubby the sites and the food market where you can get fresh veggies, fish and meat everyday but sunday.  He loved that!!! Then we took him to Munich and other cities close-by. My grandma and her friend took Hubby to the mountains one day while me and Little Man had a  shopping and playground day.

We did lots of walking, Saw lots of churches, Did some shopping and just enjoyed everything.  Hubby took lots of pictures and i am having some trouble loading them onto WordPress so i put the highlights on Flickr, there are just to many to put all of them on.   He said is favorite part was just seeing how other people lived and trying all the new things over there.

Just a little side note when you are going thru the pictures of Augsburg-the city is over 2000 years old and was founded by the Romans.  So the pics of the city wall are very old!!!  There is even an apartment building right by grandma’s house that has a cannonball in it from the 30 years war-and i totally forgot to get a picture of it, even though i walked by that almost twice a day!!

Overall the trip was great, Little Man did great on the planes and trains and just being on vacation.  he liked his Elliott Dragons! They still haven’t been named and once they have became worms instead of dragons-which i guess i can kind of understand since they are just tube shaped-like a worm hahaha.

I did get some yarn while i was over there :) :) and I finished my 2 projects that i took with me and even a small third project.  Pictures of those in tomorrow’s post-i still haven’t taken the yarn out of their bags to organize them and the socks have to be washed cause i wore them on the flight home :)

I am happy to be home though and off those stupid planes.

My goals for today-well my post is done, and i did the dishes this morning but still have dinner, laundry and tree and all i want to do is stay curled up with my  kitty Max, computer, blanket and tea :)   But off i go!

Here is a small Christmas-y note to end on-Little Man got his tree decorated last night :)

Awww Thanx : ) i am glad to be home!

I am still playing catch-up around the house, i put up the Christmas tree and tomorrow it will be decorated.  Picked up and went through all my mail. Unpacked suitcases early this morning and realized i have lots of laundry to do even though i was hoping i would be able to put it off until the weekend.  i have bills to pay, a dishwasher to empty and load, groceries to buy-and just Reality to get back into. I was spoiled while i was visiting grandma and now i want to do nothing.

Tomorrow’s goals-my post that i said i would be writing today, a finished tree and starting my laundry-UGH!!!!!

Something to look forward to knitting-wise: during my internet catch-up i came across this on Knitty, Eeeeeee I am so making this!!! My knitted babe fairy needs a friend.

Good Night!

HI GUYS!!! We are home and happy and healthy and… tired :)

Will post tomorrow but i had to say Hi to you!!!
