Monkey’s Done, originally uploaded by Craftydiddl.

Yay! i love how these turned out! They knit up fast too, i can see why so many have found this to be an addicting pattern. I of course took my time with them BUT had i focused on them i would have been done much faster.
Pattern: Monkey by Cookie A., free on Knitty.com
For: Me
Yarn: Lana Grossa Meilenweit Multieffekt
Dates:Aug. 15 -Aug. 31, 2007
Notes: Folowed pattern as written

This has been kind of a lame week so i chose not to write.
What’s next? Well i am working on a really basic cardigan for around the house with some Cascade 220 that was in my stash.
I am also going to start some socks for Hubby for our Anniversary in October. He has been bugging me for some for quite some time and i refused after he requested a scarf and hat in colors that he picked himself at the store and then never wore the stuff unless i said HEY put this on. So the scarf got regifted-it was only worn once and the hat was given to charity. For a year i have said NO i am never knitting you anything again but honestly i have no idea what else to get him that doesn’t cost way too much money. And there is nothing cheap that he would like or get use out of-YES i have one of those kinds of hubbies. So i am giving in and making him socks and i am even contemplating making him a sweater for Christmas-I have no idea what i am thinking. That is still a big maybe though. Depends on how the socks get recieved LOL. Anyway the sweater is in the Fall Interweave Knits by Brooklyntweed. This one here. i just hate to make it and have it just hang there–There is always charity or regifting again isn’t there–We’ll see-it’s a big decision and i still have some time. What do you think i should do?
Anyway, Cardigan and Socks are what i will be working on for the next few weeks. I will have to start coming up with stories or something to entertain you guys? If there is anything you were wondering about me then ask and i will answer your questions in a post :)
Have a great Labor Day Weekend!

stole on pillow, originally uploaded by Craftydiddl.

Since i was so happy to be free of my stole you would think that would be the last you would hear of it but i love it so much that i took more pictures once it was done blocking.
If you want to see more they are here!

Hope you guys have a great weekend!

MS3 blocking, originally uploaded by Craftydiddl.

Free of knitting on the Mystery Stole! It is blocking but i have a feeling i will have to block it again. This is my first time ever blocking lace or anything of this size. i don’t think i stretched it enough lengthwise. I felt like i with every readjustment i would make it would make it worse and find spots that needed to be stretched more.
I love it though. i am not sure how much use it will get but i am so proud of my first lace pattern with lace yarn. It was a great pattern and i had a lot of fun watching it unfold and having no idea what the end result would be. i do have to admit the last 2 weeks really went slow. i wanted so badly to just push the stole aside and not work on it for a long time LOL. I am glad i kept with it because who knows how long it might have been on the back burner.
So just to summarize again-It was Mystery Stole 3
Yarn: Knit Picks Shadow in Grape Jelly from the stash.
i did do the stole with beads. nothing special just some clear an shiny beads from th local craft store.
Now time to start the second Monkey and swatching for a top-down cardigan using this pattern. i need something just easy to work on for a little bit. And my Omi requested another washcloth so i need to start that too!
If that’s not enough, i finally bought some cream colored fabric that i will use to practice some embroidery stitches on and turn it into a booklet of the the stitches as i learn them.
Happy Thursday!

i have been working on the mystery stole, i have about 5 more rows to go and then i will BE FREE lol. I am hoping that those will be done tomorrow and i will start blocking it on friday or maybe if i am lucky tomorrow.

Over the weekend we had a lot of wind and cooler weather. Nice but the wind wreaked Havoc! on my allergies. i was pretty useless, and did nothing besides sneeze, blow my nose and lay on the couch with a pathetic look on my face.  I feel a lot better. I have allergies from April to Sept./Oct. but i have periods that are really bad.

I know it’s a bit late but thanx for the input on my socks. I am just going to go with the flow but since i finshed the fisrt sock i haven’t started the second pair. I have wanted to but instead i force myself to work a couple stole rows.

Some pics soon and more to say-i just haven’t done much this week. :)

Good Night!

A Monkey, originally uploaded by Craftydiddl.

I got my first Monkey done-but i have a problem-well not really a problem but a decision to make. As you can tell this is self-striping yarn.
Do i go through the trouble to cut and rearrange my yarn so that way the socks can match as much as possible or just go with the flow. i checked both ends of the yarn and either way i will be doing some hacking.
I would prefer not to hack and honestly it isn’t that big of deal if they match. That’s kind of the fun of self-made socks. What do you guys think? Part of my fear is that my sock will have a couple weak spots since i would be rejoining my yarn in a couple spots to make it match. To me a sock is stronger if it has been worked straight thru with a whole skein- no breaks. I do realize that it’s not. Knitted fabric is very strong and as long as i weave my ends in well i should have no problems but i still have that worry anyway.
But now that i have babbled incoherently back to the main question-should i go for matching socks?
Thanx for your opinions, Good Night and Have a Great Weekend!

A little hard to knit when Max decides he likes your little table with your pattern chart on it. Everytime i leaned back to work on the Wrong Side row he made himself comfy on the pattern. He may have slowed me down last night. . .

But i still got it done.

Tomorrow the last clue comes out. I will be so happy when i am done with the Stole-Now i have to figure out How and Where i am gonna block this baby!

Hubby’s Bracelet, originally uploaded by Craftydiddl.

More bracelets from the Misanga Promise Ring book.
i really love this book. And there are still so many i want to try. I want to make one like Little Man’s for myself-it’s a great quick bracelet and then on to more new stuff.

I have been chugging along on my MS3 Hopefully i will have a clue 6 pic tomorrow i still have about 15 rows to go.
Monkey Socks are also doing well-i was actually moving along really quickly on them but then i set them aside to work on the stole and the bracelets and i tweaked my room a a little bit, cleaned it up and computered so they are only just past the gusset on the first sock. i was so sure i would be on the 2nd sock by now. I am just trying to do so much. i need a couple more of me.  :)

Good Night!

Well since i have no pictures and no mental energy to try and write a post i decided to do this meme that i have seen on a couple blogs.

4. Love it! This is my thing.
Knitting, baking, making friendship bracelets, reading, collecting stickers and postcards, listening to music and pretending i am a good dancer and singer LOL, doodling with markers and colored pencils,

3. I do or have dabbled in it.
Crochet, cross-stitch, beading, origami, sewing, writing poetry,  making beads and couple smaller animals with polymer clay,

2. I’ll give it a try.
Embroidery, tatting, macramé, shibori, wire knitting, quilting, pottery, design my own knitted sweater/cardigan, make my own jelly/jam, dye some yarn, making a artist trading card,  more advanced beading,

1. I’ve got absolutely no interest.
Wood stuff, Flower arranging, having a garden (i like my 3 worry-free plants that i do have and don’t want more-besides i am a notorious plant killer), spinning (has no appeal to me right now-looks hard but i reserve the right to change my mind on this one)

Well, that’s all i got right now.  What about you guys?

And hopefully some project updates tomorrow and a finished picture of my hubby’s bracelet that i finished yesterday-I already started a bracelet for my Little Man :)

Mystery Stole Clue 5, originally uploaded by Craftydiddl.

Two more to go, I think. This part was fine-i kinda missed having the center stitch to know where i was and help me figure out if i was on the right track. Instead i kept track by putting a stitch marker at the beginning and end of the repeated section and that really helped. I liked this pattern because it was also pretty easy to tell when you messed up. The double decreases and yarnovers made lines so you could tell from the row below if you were off. I only missed one yarnover in this section. Don’t get me wrong there were other flubs but i caught them before i had moved on to the next row.
I am glad i finished this during Little Man’s nap so i can work on my Monkey’s tonight.
I know i really should be working on my Pinwheel Purse but i just haven’t been drawn to that project at all. I might at least try to finish my last triangle tonight so that way the back piece is done.

I have decided that i really need to try and eat better and work on my weight. Every night for the past few weeks i have been laying Little Man down and just chowing on all the junk that i won’t let him eat. (hypocrite, i know) i just crave sweets. I have to have chocolate or cake or ice cream. I haven’t put on any weight but i just know that eating late at night is not good for my body and of course isn’t helping me lose the original weight i have been wanting to lose since Little Man was born. I want to try and eat more veggies and satisfy my sweet cravings with fruit or a teeny treat. I love to bake but most of the time i am the one that eats the whole cake over a week because hubby is more of a salty snacker. So i am going to freeze half or more of the cake so that way there isn’t any out to tempt me. Smaller Portions of course. Anyone have any other tips or ideas? Understand this isn’t just a vanity thing (yes i am admiting it’s part vanity) but it is for overall better body health. i am still doing a lot of investigating and finding some recipes that will benefit the whole family not just me. Now just to let you know i hate anything from the water so that can make this a bit tricky. I know fish and such is supposed to be great for your health but i just can’t do it-i have tried. So i am sorry if you were gonna say “Eat Fish” that just won’t work for me. I really just want this to be a nice laid back, baby steps kind of thing. Explore what works for me.
Well now that i have bored you with my eating plans i guess i will end and go knit some Monkey’s. Knitting burns calories :) Just Playing, I am not anywhere near obsessive lke that.
Have a great night you guys!! Thanx for “listening.”

P.s.  Karen asked me about my yarn for the Monkey’s so i figured i better put it on here. I didn’t even think to yesterday.  It’s Lana Grossa Meilenweit 100 Multieffekt # 3124.(Karen i didn’t tell you the 100 because there is no 100 on my label but i guss that’s how they refer to it) It’s supposed to be one of those yarns that look like Fair Isle but aren’t. My Omi sent it to me from Germany before i was really into knitting socks.

I don’t think they make the color anymore i am having trouble finding it but i found some pics of finished socks here ( scroll down until you see Nr. 3124-not far) and here ( i love how the yarn looks on these socks-what a great pattern)

Okay I’m going for real this time :)

I gave in…, originally uploaded by Craftydiddl.

I am knitting Monkey’s.
Other than that i am still chuggin away on Mystery Stole Clue 5. I am not sure what it is but i am not moving along as quickly on this clue as i would like. i do about 5 rows and then i want to quit and do something else but i force myself to do more. I still have 15 more rows to go. i think i am getting burnt out. LOL It’s just that usually when i have a bigger project on the needles i take breaks and work on something on the side. I know i could with this too but i set myself a goal of getting the clues done each week and i really want to stick with it!
i played a lot of cars today with Little Man, got some laundry done and organized my bookshelf. Cars was the most fun :) I was playing with a Police Car and Little Man was a race car and i pulled him over for speeding and gave him a ticket. WELL, he liked that game so much that we had to keep doing it and i was getting tired of it so i started to drive away and his car yells at me “Wait! Come Back! I need a ticket i am going to fast” :) :)
Love that boy!

Good Night you guys :)
