Saturday Market Bag, originally uploaded by Craftydiddl.

My Saturday Market bag is all done!! It has even been taken out to see the world already-We went on a picnic today and my new bag wanted to come and how could i say No :)

Info:
Pattern: Saturday Market Bag from Magknits
Yarn: Sugar n’ Cream in Colorway Playtime
Needles-Size 15 and 10-I used my Denise Interchangable set
Comments: I loved this pattern-it was a quick knit and the end result is great! i used the mods i found browsing and reading other blogs (Ravelry really speeded this process up-another reason to love Ravelry) They can be found here. I think next time i would try knitting this in the round because the side seams were a bit tricky and don’t look as nice as i would like. but other than i love my bag!

Time to get back to work on my sock pal’s socks.

I got mail yesterday!! i got mail yesterday!!!! yay yay!!!  When i first peeped my head in the mailbox i saw this:

and i instantly thought who in the world am i getting an Amish Country postcard from.  Noone i know is gone or lives there and then i turned it over to read and IT”S FROM MY SOCK PAL!!!  She wrote to say that my sock was traveling with her and seeing some sites.  How cool is that not only did i get a surprise postcard (i love mail) but i will be getting a sock that has been places.  Thanx for the surprise postcard Sock Pal it put a smile on my face!

I finally finished my washcloth-i changed my mind about making one big one.  I am going to make another one and one i will send to my Grandma in Germany and the other i will keep for myself. For this one-

Yarn: Mission Falls 1824 Cotton-colors 202 and 208

Pattern is from Mason-Dixon Knitting and i followed it exactly besides maybe how many rows i did- i just knitted until i felt like stopping.

My second washcloth:

Can you se a difference LOL-yep i switched the colors around.

Sock Pal sock update: One sock has has the heel turned and i am turning the other one tonight.

I started walking again, feels good :) And i want to try and do Yoga again i miss it and i am so not flexible anymore( not that i was a pretzel or anything but i can’t even touch my feet anymore, that’s no good) Yoga used to make me feel good.   Hubby is working 12 hour shifts all next week so i will have to squeeze things in during Little Man’s nap and he will have no choice but to go on my walks.  Luckily it is supposed to cool down during the week.

My dad is coming next Saturday for a week so i also have to get ready for his visit.  I’m a little bit nervous about it-me and my dad are not super close just because we have always been so far away from each other.  and he had a Triple Bypass last August so he can’t eat all that junk and red meat that we eat here lol-i am sure it will do me and hubby  some good to eat better, i always try and make sure Little Man tries to eat pretty good.  But i have a recipe book i got about a year ago that has all heart healthy recipes and i am going to try and find some things to make while he is here.

Well off to turn a heel. Hope you all had a nice weekend.

i finally started the fairy wings. They were collecting fuzzies and floating between floor and table the past few days but i hope to finish them tonight.

I have 2 squares so far and plan to start my third AFTER i finish the wings :) . I love the striping on the green square that was made from a german skein of yarn and the burgandy square is just some leftover Cascade 220.

I worked on the green square at the graduation party i went to for Knitting in Pubilc Day. You would have thought i was doing some sort of Alien activity i wasn’t asked like this ‘Oh what’s that your doing?” It was more like What ARE you doing? and i was called Susie Homemaker. But i kept up my knitting and socializing!! i just couldn’t believe what a big deal it was. Only one Grandma who crochets asked with interest what i was making. Oh well i love being Alien!!

Gotta check on my lasagna. Mmmm

p.s. socks are resting probably will be for a couple more days-Good thing you get a couple months to work on your sock pal socks.

I came across this some where in blog land a few weeks ago and i have been eyeing this project/charity collection for some time and she needs thousand more squares so i decided i will need something easy to work on at the graduation party in the park tomorrow ( i will be knitting in public on Knitting in Public day what a coincidence!!!).  My current detailed lacy socks just won’t do i have a feeling that there will be a lot of up and down so i want something easy and small so why not be helpful!! It will benefit the people of Greensburg and it will benefit me by being a handy and easy project :)

Anyway you can read deails here but basically they are collecting 8 inch squares to make afghans for the people of Greenburg, Kansas that lost basically everything.  I noticed that she got some hats and other things too so i am going to add a scarf and 2 hats that i have extra also.

I picked out 3 single skein German yarns i got from my grandma in Germany and an extra Cascade 220 in a dark purple i got from Hubby’s grandma.

Off to watch some Stargate (last season :( ) and start a square.  Have a great weekend everybody!

p.s. anybody else Knitting in Public tomorrow?

Lots of stuff going on…this is Jenni’s last week before she starts her move down to Indiana.  I am not feeling the sadness quite as much but i know on her last day when i go say goodbye again i will probably have some more tears. but all will be well! :)

Gradution party on Saturday-i don’t mind i just wish we didnt have to drive little over and hour to get there-i am whining about that and my Best Friend is moving over six hours away LOL but that i wouldn’t mind because of what would be at the end of the 6 hours.  and i am hoping to finish cleaning and organizing around the house i got Little Man’s room all rearranged and the big dresser switched with a smaller dresser so that we he has more floor space for his kitchen and stuff.  Kids toys sure have gotten bigger and take up a lot of space.

I finally went to Joann and got some stiffer felt for my fairy’s wings…she still doesn’t have a name.  Last week i was able to get the templates enlarged at my mom’s so now i just hav to cut, decorate and sew on.  That will be my goal for tomorrow.

I started sewing an apron today. Just a small waist one from Simple Sewing  by Lotta Jandsotter.  There is a cute hat in it i want to make but i want to start out easy and work my way up. My machine sewing is not very good or very straight at all.  I actually suprised myself today when i was sewing but i took it slow and tried not to worry about it all so much.

And i am of course still working on my sock pals sock and i started some Hedera’s, as of now they don’t have a set owner maybe for me maybe not. I had actually considered as a pattern for my sock pal but it really seemed like a pattern that might need some as you go sizing so i was a little nervous about it.  I really wanted to make them so I am :) And there are already about 3 other socks i want to make! Not counting the ones from Knitting Vintage Socks. I am addicted!!!!

Pictures coming soon :)
