Babe and WIP’s, originally uploaded by Craftydiddl.

i take my pictures and start mentally thinking about what i am about going to blog about and then i don’t do it. My sock pal even emailed to check up on me-How nice is that?? Dear sock pal i am doing very good-little sad and if you read on you will find out why, nothing bad or serious just sad. I have just been blog lazy-picture loading lazy-lazy in general when it comes to Sheepie Knits.

Why am i sad? Last week my Best Friend since 3rd grade, My “Sister” went to Indiana for Vacation and came back talking about the houses and the great deals and her husband missing his parents who moved there about a year ago and that they were seriously considering at moving down there. And of course i was very encouraging and understood all the reasons why they would want to make the move (cheaper, bigger house, hubby’s family that can watch the baby so they don’t need daycare) but i figured it would take some time and they were still in the “Investigating stage”. Boy was i ever wrong. She emailed me over the weekend just a couple days after they got back to say they were goign back to indiana for the long weekend to look at houses and hubby had some job interviews. Okay…No problem…I wished them all the best, lots of luck on the interviews and finding a house that they wanted and i seriously meant it all. She called today from Indiana-Hubby got a job thy want him to start ASAP, she works for Fashion Bug so she is just gonna work for one down there and they found a great house. They will slowly be making the move for the rest of June. She could be fully in Indiana by the end of June or middle of July at the most-i know Tim (her hubby) will be there for sure cause he is putting in his two weeks and goign right down to start his new job. THIS IS ALL GOING TO FAST FOR ME. My Best Friend, My “Sister” who has lived 4 houses down from me all our childhood, then in a apartment with me and then just 10 mins away from me in neighboring cities and right now minutes away in the same city is moving 6 hours away from me–i know thats what happens when you get older and you all move on-but she is my family and all my family already lives even farther away from me and i just can’t believe that this is all happening so fast.
I am beyond happy that everything is falling right into place for here-i wouldn’t want it any other way and i hate that i feel like this-i feel selfish feeling like this but i am going to miss her soo much!!! and i didnt think i would be so sad cause i always knew she wanted to move down to that area but…but…it’s so fast.
But i feel tears coming back–let’s talk knitting.
I made a doll from Dream Toys-she is supposed to be the fairy ( cause i love fairies) but i can’t enlarge the wings template yet so she is a wingless fairy. i used various half used skeins for her-some baby yarn for her body, her hair is the yarn i used for my Mini Sweater, and her dress is some Bernat satin yarn. I love her and her crazy eyes.
She is holding the beginnings of the sock for my Sock Pal-Louet Gems Super Fine Merino wool in Crabapple Blossom from THE LOOPY EWE ( love the loopy ewe and Sheri-best service and Sheri si so sweet!!!!) My goal for my Pal is some socks from Knitting Vintage Socks by Nancy Bush called the Child’s French Sock (that’s one of the best pics i could find of them). i hope she will like them, she likes a lot of varigated yarns but was looking on her blog and she has so many it seemed that she had made or was working on and she also mentioned she would like solid cabled or lacey socks so i am going with that.  What do you think?
Below my wingless fairy is my washcloth-yes i know i have gotten very far on it :) :) LOL. I have just been working on it at random moments-my plan is just to work on it until my yarn runs out so it may be more like a hand towel and it may take some time at this pace.
Well, i think it’s time for some dessert for me an the Little Man!
Sock Progress in a few days :) i may even have some started for myself that i saw in Knitting Vintage Socks. :) :)

Glampyre’s Mini Sweater, originally uploaded by Craftydiddl.

All Done-Just need a button–i could have posted this tuesday but i was lazy :)
Pattern: Mini Sweater aka boob holder
Yarn: German Yarn-Wolle Rodel Acapulco-it’s 54% acrylic, 38% merino and 8 % Viscose.
Dates: May 4-14, 2007
Notes: Very easy knit-i did have to do some extra increases for the arm and body and i didn’t make the sleeves as poufy- i think it would have looked funny on me. but other than that i follod the pattern. Would make again :)
I have been taking a little 2 day knitting rest but i think tonight i will cast-on for my washcloth.
I emailed my sock pal again today so hopefully by beginning of next week i will hear back, if not then i will just move and and do whatever i want :) :)
Little Man just woke up from his nap so off i go…

My week started off pretty good and then came Wednesday-my birthday and my little man became miserably ill with a cold.  So miserably ill that when i was in my bathroom he came to look for his booger sucker and proceeded to puke, his whole lunch that he had about 20 mins prior, all over me, the sink, the toilet, the floor and the shower curtain…Yep…Happy Birthday to me!!  There was a repeat performance after i cleaned him up but luckily he was very minor in comparison and just on his blanket.  We stayed home Thursday because he was still miserable and Friday we only ventured to the grocery store because i had to get some heavy cream for the Ganache that i was putting on my mom’s Petit Fours for Mother’s Day.  Evening came and i started sniffling and my nose was much more runny and boogery just to be my allergies–YEP!!!! i was sick by 8 i was laying in bed miserable and spent all day Saturday in bed-Bathroom and Lunch for Little Man were the only things i got up for. Today was a little bit better but i am still feeling pretty drained and starting to cough and have continued to spend about 60% of my day in bed.

Not what i had planned for my week of birthday and Mother’s Day.  But i should be thankful for all that i have not that my week went bad-but i think its natural to be disappointed-or am i being selfish?

On a Happier note i did get money for my birthday and my Best Friend got me a gift card to Joann (local craft store) and my Mom got me an AWESOME GIFT-Yarn in a Dark Purple, pattern for a shawl for the yarn, Modular Knits, Loose tea and tea strainer, my favorite chocolate from Whole Foods, Badger lip and boldy balm in Chai Rose,  Some really cool bead rings i’ll have to take some pictures of those,  a darling beanie Eeyore in a yellow jammie shirt(we love eeyore he is our favorite friend) and last but not least a hot pink roll of Duct Tape because we are making Duct Tape Body forms :) and Hubby got basically let me lose on Amazon and i got some movies, Knitting Vintage Socks, and the soundtrack to Amelie :) . So it really was  good birthday but we just had a setback a very sick setback lol :)

I am almost done with The Mini Sweater. I would have been done sooner but i have only managed 3 rows over the past 2 days that i was sick.

I haven’t been able to get any yarn for my sock pal yet :( i emailed twice and she emailed me letting me know she was busy and would get me her measurements last weekend :( and so i said okay no rush but asked her some color q’s and she still hasn’t answered any of my q’s from either of my emails.  Ugh here i am complaining again but i really wanted to have some yarn picked up by now and she hasnt updated her blog since January and there wasnt much on it so i didnt get much help from there-but i do have some ideas so i might just have to go with the flow.

Pics of sweater hopefully by wednesday then start my washcloth.

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!

My Jaywalkers, originally uploaded by Craftydiddl.

THEY”RE HERE!!!! my jaywalkers are all done-i sure took my sweet time but it was all worth it.
Pattern: Jaywalkers by Grumperina-Magknits
Yarn: Regia 4ply Canadian Color -4736 (i think its called Ontario)
Dates Knitted: April 1-May 3, 2007
Notes: i followed the pattern as written and had no problems at all
but i ended up using size 2 double-points to get the gauge and i knit the largest size.

Now-it’s time to seriously look at some patterns for my Sock pal and then yarn shopping.

And to tide me over until i get all that done i will be starting Glampyre’s Mini Sweater aka Boob Holder(pdf)  :)
And a washcloth from the Mason-Dixon Knitting book. I have to keep these hands busy :) because cleaning and the little man don’t keep them busy enough LOL. No no they do but i am one of those people that can’t just sit and watch TV, I have to be doing something.  Tonight i have so many shows on i like that i have to use the DVR.

Off to wind my skeins into balls…by hand…its times like these i wish i had a ball winder but then i think this happens only about 5 times a year so its just not worth it. These are passed on skeins-trust me i would have had them wound at my LYS if i had bought them myself.

Yep!! i joined this year!! YAY!! i am excited.  i got my pals info yesterday and i am really excited about looking for some yarn for her socks.  She likes Lace patterns and prefers them in a solid color which is what i was hoping to do before i even knew who my pal was. So i am excited now i just need to start looking at patterns and yarn- and go over her preferences again just make sure that is what i want to do. Have to be sure.

My sock pal left me a comment too!! ohhh exciting exciting!!!!

I need to finish my Jaywalker- i haven’t been working on it at all but i watched the episode of Knitty Gritty with Cat Bordhi and her Mobius Strip Cowl and wanted to try it out so i did and it didnt come out right-i made the mobius strip but half my Mobius was Stockinette and the other half was purled–I think i did the cast-on wrong.  and the worst part is i accidently deleted the episode from my DVR so now i can’t go back and see how it was done ARRRGGHHH!!! and they didnt have pictures on DIY site–HO HUM so sad.

Off to get some rows done on my Jaywalker before 2nd sock syndrome really kicks in!!!
